Erik Monsieur
New telephony solution furthers growth of business.
Erik Monsieur is a young electrician from Ekeren who likes watching his business, Erimo, grow. That’s why he keeps an eye on two things: he wants to be constantly available to his customers by phone, but at the same time, he’s aware of the cost. Which is why he became a Mobistar customer.

set up one and a half years ago as a self-employed electrician. Initially, he started out as a subcontractor for his previous employer, where he had been working as a project manager for four years installing CCTV cameras and access control systems. Prior to this, he worked as a field engineer for a telecom company. “I noticed that good labour was hard to find and I always wanted to try my hand at running my own business”, smiles the 29-year old. He mainly applies his talent to renovations and new builds for private individuals and small and medium-sized companies.
The challenge
comparing prices
When Erik Monsieur started out as a selfemployed
electrician, he had his landline
number printed on all his documents and
many of his customers tended to call him
on it. But Erik spends a lot of time on the
road and so calls on the landline were
transferred to his mobile phone.
Not a problem as such, except... that the
bill for all the transferred calls was quite
expensive at the end of the month.
He decided to look for a cheaper
solution. “But when you check all the
telecoms operators to compare prices,
you can’t see the forest for the trees. You
often find yourself comparing apples with
oranges and, at the end of the day, you
have no idea what or who to choose”,
says Erik. And self-employed people
don’t really have the time to shop around.
The solution
including call transfers
“I was in my car and I heard a Mobistar radio ad about the new One Office Voice Pack for self-employed people. I sent a text message to the number mentioned. A bit later, someone called me to arrange an appointment and a few days after that I met someone from Mobistar at my home to analyse my call volume. The simulation showed that I could save a serious amount on my mobile phone costs.” Barely a month later, his two mobile phones, his landline and fax line were routed via Mobistar. The Mobistar pricing plan that Erik chose also includes free call transfers from the landline to the mobile phone, as well as calls between both mobile phones. “If I’m at an industrial site with a partner and have to communicate across several floors, at least we don’t have to yell to one another. I simply give him the second mobile phone.”
The outcome
availability and budget optimised
“Now I really can be reached at all times. Customers simply choose whether they want to call me on my landline or on my mobile phone. It doesn’t make any difference to me. Every call is answered, either by me or by the voice mail”, concludes Erik. He’s still surprised at how smoothly everything went. He tends to use his landline less often now, preferring to use his mobile phone. He also calls customers and suppliers en route about appointments and deliveries. “If I want to expand in the future, I’ll certainly discuss my options with Mobistar. I have a fixed contact there. It’s so easy.”
